Nils M. Jensen, Director, The Association of Danish Museums, is an experienced leader in cultural heritage, museums, and communication. As Director of the Association of Danish Museums, he has worked since 2008 to strengthen and develop the role of museums in Denmark, creating awareness and impact for their cause. He holds a degree in Prehistoric Archaeology from Aarhus University and a diploma in Journalism from the Danish School of Media and Journalism. His professional museum experience also includes roles at Odense Bys Museer, Danish Museum Training School, and the National Museum of Denmark.

Nils M. Jensen’s reflections on the META-MUSEUM:

“The META-MUSEUM project boldly applies new and previously untried scientific methods from fields such as museology, psychology, and neuroscience to specifically focus, in this case, on how museums communicate our common heritage. This approach is rooted in the recognition that engaging visitors can be challenging—and for some, the experience may feel distant and incomprehensible. With the mantra that heritage is not just for experts but belongs to all of us, META-MUSEUM seeks to create fresh pathways for understanding how we adapt knowledge and insight of our visitors (and maybe non visitors). The noble aim is to bring history to life, making it accessible and meaningful for everyone. It is a project I whole-heartedly support.”
