Ośrodek Przetwarzania Informacji – Państwowy Instytut Badawczy (OPI-PIB) Poland. OPI PIB’s Interactive Technologies Laboratory works at the intersection of technology and society, bringing together an interdisciplinary team of researchers with expertise in social studies, UX research, and human-centred digital systems. The institute combines quantitative and qualitative methodologies — including online and offline surveys, ethnographic and field research, and laboratory-based UX studies — to understand how people engage with technology and information. This profile makes OPI PIB a natural contributor to research on how citizens encounter, interpret, and emotionally appropriate cultural heritage.
Role in META-MUSEUM
OPI PIB contributes primarily to the theoretical and experimental dimensions of the project, with a focus on measurement design and data interpretation. Its responsibilities span multiple work packages:
- WP2 (Theoretical framework and TMt): participant in T2.1 (audience and stakeholder analysis), T2.2 (sample composition), T2.3 (general assessment and interpretation model), and lead of T2.4 — the design of pre- and post-experiment questionnaires used across all pilots
- WP4 (Pilots experimental components): participant in T4.1 (design brief scoping)
- WP6 (P1 — Museums): participant in T6.4 and T6.7 (status quo and P1 interpretation and assessment)
- WP7 (P2 — Hospitals): participant in T7.1 (adaptation of psychometric measures to clinical settings) and T7.4 (P2 interpretation and assessment)
- WP8 (P3 — Hybrid environments): participant in T8.6 (P3 interpretation and assessment)
- WP9 (Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation): participant
