In September, META-MUSEUM decided to join UNIGHT activities in Turin, part of the larger-scale European Researchers’ Night, taking place in the same days across all Europe.
The occasion, with teams from POLITO, VILNIUS TECH and STICHTING VU, was the chance to start VILNIUS’ M4 System testing looking forward to P3 implementation. With the collaboration of Turin municipality that lent the META-MUSEUM team the Bibliobus, a library on wheels, researchers tested the system in a simplified version both in and outside.
The activity proposed to the event passersby, asked them to watch one of the videos from the three associated partners while a camera system set up by VILNIUS, tracked facial micro-movements to approximate the participants’ real-time emotional response to the stimulus.
The event outturn was significant with over 150 people stopping by, over the course of the two days, the stand, showing interest in the project and actively engaging with the team that answered their every question. Taking the chance, everybody was invited to take part to the experiment set up for the occasion either outside or inside the Bibliobus, with the possibility inside to record the session and receive via email a report of the emotional reaction to said videos.
Participation to the event was taken as an opportunity to grow the project online presence and following, with a reasonably good outturn here too; multiple posts and IG stories were shared to META-MUSEUM accounts to advertise and encourage participation.
