Training modules on TransforMEANS Theory in Progress

EMA is currently developing training modules on the TransforMEANS Theory in collaboration with the Nordic Centre of Heritage Learning & Creativity (NCK). The project aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of TransforMEANS Theory and its practical implementation within museum settings.

The development of these training modules is a collaborative effort, drawing upon the expertise of various partners within the META-MUSEUM project. The initial phase involved a presentation of theoretical ideas and discussions with Polito and EMA, leading to the creation of a framework for an open-ended presentation by NCK.

EMA is now gathering illustrative examples from a wide range of museums, leveraging its extensive experience in managing and assessing museum awards. These examples, drawn from award submissions, expert evaluations, and accompanying documentation, will serve as valuable case studies for the training modules.

The first version of the training module is scheduled for its debut at the summer school in Koper, Slovenia, hosted by the Forum for Slavic Cultures at the end of May. Subsequently, EMA will utilize this module, with minor adjustments and additions, at in-person summer schools in Ă–stersund, Sweden, Graz, Austria, and Nicosia, Cyprus, as part of the Erasmus Mundus Master in Education in Museums and Heritage.

This collaborative approach ensures that the training modules are grounded in real-world examples and best practices, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of TransforMEANS Theory and its practical applications in museum settings.
